Our Process

The Wilson Vet Co. team is dedicated to the health of your flocks, and the unique needs of your farms. Our process is designed to uncover potential problems before they happen, and maintain strong flock health for years to come.

1

On-Site Visits

Our team of experienced vets will analyze your farm and your flocks to assess your current situation and foresee potential future problems.

2

Problem Identification

Through thorough record reviews and on-site visits, our veterinary team and support staff identify key issues, structured to maximize impact. We emphasize practical solutions that balance return on investment with the health and welfare of the birds.

In addition to evaluating bird health, we also address other producer needs by providing guidance on regulatory, welfare, and compliance matters, as well as identifying opportunities for staff training.

3

Diagnostics

When subclinical and clinical health challenges arise, our veterinarians recommend gold standard diagnostic approaches. We recognize that each producer works within a budget, and we are mindful that final decisions rest with the client.

Our diagnostic advice includes both routine preventive programs and investigative diagnostics aimed at addressing challenges as they occur.

4

Analysis

Our approach is centered on understanding data and addressing challenges as they emerge, leveraging trends and in-depth analysis. Wilson Vet Co prioritizes the proper storage of all client-related data in a confidential and organized, accessible format for analysis.

This includes data on mortality, wellness checks, routine diagnostics such as serology, and investigative diagnostics, all stored to provide insights into each producer’s unique needs. We believe that if producers invest in collecting this data, it should be utilized to enhance flock health and profitability.

5

Reports & Wrap-Up

Wrap-up and reporting are tailored to each client’s needs and availability. While most discussions, problem identification, and action steps are addressed before leaving the site, on-site visits typically mark just the beginning.

Afterward, our veterinarians and staff begin processing diagnostics, managing results, and creating a comprehensive key findings report. Each report covers six key areas: Health, Nutrition, Management, Biosecurity, Welfare, and Compliance.

The report summary focuses on three main points:
Areas to Discuss, Positive Feedback, Pending Diagnostics

6

Implement & Repeat

The core of our process is the continuous review and refinement of our clients’ flock health and husbandry programs. We aim to build a strong partnership with producers, providing ongoing support through repeat visits, participation in operations calls, and regular production data review, all with a strong focus on disease and problem prevention.

Many of our recommended program implementations require extended time frames due to bird life cycles, and we are committed to seeing these projects through to completion. Then, under our clients’ direction, we begin the process again.
